The 12-Week Return Appointment, Hour by Hour

The 12-week All-on-4 return visit is typically 3–5 days. Day 1: osseointegration verification and digital scan. Day 2: bite registration and shade selection. Day 3–4: prosthesis fabrication in lab. Day 5: try-in, final adjustment, fit and photographic record.

1. Day 1 — Verification. CBCT or panoramic check, manual implant stability test (each implant individually), full digital intraoral scan, soft-tissue review around the implant collars
2. Day 2 — Records. Precise bite registration with the provisional still in place to capture your habituated occlusion, shade selection if you've chosen zirconia, photographic records for the lab

Who Is NOT a Candidate for Standard All-on-4 (and the Zygomatic Backup)

For heavy bruxers, finite element analysis suggests All-on-6 distributes occlusal force more favourably (FEA comparison, PMC 2023). If anterior bone density is the limiting factor, All-on-6 may suit your case better. In borderline atrophy cases, bone grafting may be considered as a precursor.
